Earlier, other public telecom companies were also instructed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority) to increase the validity of prepaid users whose validity is expiring during lock down. TRAI asked Jio, Vodafone-Idea and Airtel to ensure that users should continue to receive service uninterrupted during the 21-day lock-down. TRAI has asked all the telecom companies to take appropriate steps for this on priority basis.
According to the PTI report, TRAI in its statement has instructed all the telecom companies that users should not face any kind of connectivity during lock down. The authority said that telecom is the essential service of the people and said that people should not face any problem due to this. Telecom companies took necessary steps for this. However, there has been no official reply from any telecom operator following this directive from TRAI.
